Applicants may apply for a library card in person at the library or they may complete the online application prior to visiting the library. In either case, verification of residential address must be presented in person before a library card is issued.  

The Collierville Burch Library provides library cards to Collierville residents at no charge and to nonresidents at an annual fee of $50. All library cards issued must be renewed. The renewal period is three years for Collierville residents and one year for other cardholders. There is no minimum age to apply for a library card if the parent/guardian is present during the application process. 

When applying for or renewing a library card, applicants must show verification of his/her current residential address. The verified address must match the information supplied by the patron on the application form.  

The following information must be supplied on the library card application in order to receive services.  

• Name and Parent's Name if under 18
• Residential Address - PO Box can only be used as the 2nd Address
• Phone number(s)
• Date of Birth 

Collierville Residents 

Residency verification requirements for Collierville residents include: 

• COLLIERVILLE PROPERTY OWNERS must present a picture I.D. shown by an adult; Library staff can look up their address on the Shelby County Assessor's website. 
• COLLIERVILLE RENTERS must provide a Collierville utility bill no older than 60 days or a current lease agreement for proof of residency. Accepted forms of identification are a driver's license or military I.D. Other forms of acceptable I.D. will be at the Library Director's discretion.

Nonresidents 

NONRESIDENT APPLICANTS (residing outside of Collierville, TN) must present a Photo ID and verification of current address, such as an up-to-date driver's license, to obtain a library card.

Nonresident Exempt Groups

If you are a nonresident and fall into an EXEMPT GROUP, as explained below, you will not be charged for a library card. 

• Town of Collierville Staff 
  • PROOF REQUIRED: Proof of Town employment (Uniform with TOC, call TOC HR Department), Picture I.D., and proof of residence.  
  • Not: Staff Family Members. 
• Active-Duty Military Personnel/Families 
  • PROOF REQUIRED: U.S. Uniformed Services I.D. and Privilege Card shown by an adult and proof of residence.
• Collierville Public and Private K-12 Students 
  • PROOF REQUIRED: Previous semester's report card, letter from teacher and picture I.D. shown by an adult and proof of residence. 
  • Not: Pre-K, Homeschool "schools", College Students, and Parents and Siblings of Students. 
• Collierville Public and Private K-12 Staff 
  • PROOF REQUIRED: Staff I.D. and proof of residence.  
  • Not: Pre-K, Homeschool "schools", College Staff, Teacher Substitutes, Student Teachers not living in Collierville, and Staff Family Members.
• Collierville Business Owners:  
  • PROOF REQUIRED: Current year paid tax receipt for the business location, a business license, a lease that is current, a picture I.D. shown by an adult, and proof of residence.

You may apply for a library card by filling out this online application. Library cards can be picked up at the checkout desk once ID and proof of residence have been verified.

Once you have a library card, you may be interested in setting up a virtual library card for your smartphone.

The Collierville Library has a mobile app available through your device's app store. Type in "Collierville Library Mobile" to find it. You may store your library card number in the Barcode wallet within the app.

All library cards issued must be renewed. The renewal period is three years for Collierville residents and one year for other cardholders.

Cardholders may renew their card in person or online through the library's website. The same information required when applying for a card, as listed above, must be provided for renewal of a library card. Online renewals will take several days to process. Use this link to renew online.

To access your account:

• Click on the My Account link at the top of this page.
• Enter your library card number (the number under the barcode on your library card).
• Enter your PIN/password.

If you forget your password:

• Click Reset My PIN/Password on the login page.
• Enter your library card number.
• Click Reset My PIN and a reset link will be sent to your email address.

E-mail password change only works if there is an email address listed on the patron account. If you need further assistance, call the Circulation Desk during open hours at 901-457-2602.

To create a new password, you must be logged in to your account.

• Click the My Account button at the top of the page. 
• Click Account Settings.
• Click Reset PIN/Password.
• Type in your old password in the first box, type your new password in the second box, then verify the new password in the third box.
• Click Update at the bottom.

At your earliest convenience, you will need to come to the Library to get a replacement card.
