Trash, recycling, and yard-waste collection observe seven major holidays each year.

The holidays include:

• New Year's Day

• Martin Luther King Day

• Memorial Day

• Independence Day (July 4th)

• Labor Day

• Thanksgiving Day

• Christmas Day

The following holidays do not affect trash, recycling, and/or yard waste collection: President's Day, Good Friday, Juneteenth, Indigenous Peoples (Columbus) Day, or Veterans Day.

New Year's Day (Wednesday, January 1, 2025) 

Sanitation collection schedule for the week will be as follows:  

• Monday’s and Tuesday’s garbage, recyclables and commercial collection will occur on your regular collection day. 
• Wednesday’s and Thursday’s will occur the day after your regular collection day.
• There will be no appliance pick up on Thursday, January 2nd. Appliance collection will resume on Thursday, January 9th. 

 

Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 20, 2025) 

Sanitation collection schedule for the week will be as follows: 

• Garbage, recyclables and commercial collection will occur the day after your regular collection day. 
• There will be no appliance pick up on Thursday, January 23rd. The next available appliance pick up will be Thursday, January 30th. 

 

Memorial Day (Monday, May 26, 2025) 

Sanitation collection schedule for the week will be as follows: 

• Garbage, recyclables and commercial collection will occur the day after your regular collection day. 
• There will be no appliance pick up on Thursday, May 29th. The next available appliance pick up will be Thursday, June 5th. 

 

Labor Day (Monday, September 1, 2025) 

Sanitation collection schedule for the week will be as follows: 

• Garbage, recyclables and commercial collection will occur the day after your regular collection day. 
• There will be no appliance pick up on Thursday, September 4th. The next available appliance pick up will be Thursday, September 11th. 

 

Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 27, 2025) 

Sanitation schedule for the week is as follows: 

• Monday’s, Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s garbage, recyclables and commercial collection will occur as regularly scheduled. 
• Thursday’s garbage, recyclables and commercial collection will occur the day after your regular collection day.
• There will be no appliance pick up on Thursday, November 27th. The next available appliance pick up will be Thursday, December 4th. 

 

Christmas Eve (Wednesday, December 24, 2025) and Christmas Day (Thursday, December 25, 2025) 

Sanitation division is working on Christmas Eve Wednesday, December 24th.
