Training and Career Development
New Police Officers begin with a 12-week Basic Police School, followed by a 3-4 month field training program with experienced Training Officers. Those with POST-approved Basic Training School certification may move directly into field training. Competitive salaries reflect prior experience, providing higher starting pay based on years of service.

Salary and Benefits
The current salary range is $60,000 - $74,341, with an excellent benefits and retirement package.

Lateral Pay Program for Certified Officers
Effective November 3, 2024:

  • 1–3 years of experience: $65,735
  • 3–5 years of experience: $68,604
  • 5+ years of experience: $71,472

Upcoming Salary Update
Effective July 1, 2025:
The salary range will increase to $60,000 - $78,997.
Lateral Pay Program:

  • 1–3 years of experience: $68,266
  • 3–5 years of experience: $73,044
  • 5+ years of experience: $76,696
