The Town of Collierville is proud to welcome two new members into the Collierville Parks Hall of Fame: Bill Samisch and Corinne Derenburger. The Collierville Parks Hall of Fame was created in 2013 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Parks Department. It honors residents who have made a big and lasting difference in our parks and recreation programs.
These two outstanding residents were honored during a special ceremony on the evening of August 12 at the Harrell Performing Arts Theatre. Mayor Maureen Fraser, Town Administrator Molly Mehner, and Parks Director Greg Clark shared kind words about the importance of community service and the new inductee’s dedication to the parks system.

Bill Samisch has helped shape Collierville’s parks and recreation programs for many years. He served on the Parks Advisory Board from 2009 to 2012 and was the Board Chairman in 2012. He also served on the Collierville Soccer Association Board and led the Collierville Tourism Advisory Board. Bill played a key role in planning and building Hinton Park and helped improve the fields at W.C. Johnson Park by adding synthetic turf. He has received the HR Houston Community Leadership Award and the Paul Harris Fellow Award for his service.
Corinne is a strong voice for children with special needs and their families. She led the effort to create Ryan’s Place, a playground at W.C. Johnson Park where children of all abilities can play together. She served six years on the Parks Advisory Board, including two years as Chair. Corinne also served on Mayor Linda Kerley’s Advisory Board and has been active in many local groups, including the Collierville Chamber of Commerce, Civitan Club, Kiwanis Club, and the school system. Her work has helped make Collierville a more welcoming and inclusive place.
After the ceremony, guests gathered at the Collierville Community Center to enjoy refreshments and see the unveiling of the new Hall of Fame plaques. These plaques are now on display at the Community Center, located at 440 W. Powell Road, alongside past honorees.
