Water Service

The Memphis area has long been known to have some of the freshest, cleanest and most consistent water in the nation. The Town of Collierville’s water is supplied by twelve wells that pump from 280 feet to 600 feet deep from the Memphis Sands aquifer directly to one of five water treatment plants for processing. Well capacity totals 23.6 million gallons per day (MGD). The Town maintains over 250 miles of mains (6 to 20 inches in diameter), over 4,700 fire hydrants and two booster pumps. Storage capacity is 4.2 million gallons.

Wastewater

The Town of Collierville operates two sewage treatment facilities with a combined average treatment capacity of 9.5 million gallons per day, over 220 miles of gravity sewer mains (6 to 48 inches in diameter) and 24 sewer lift stations.

Electric Power

The Town of Collierville's electricity is supplied by Memphis Light, Gas & Water (MLG&W), which sources from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), a federal agency that sells electricity on a nonprofit basis to its distributors. MLG&W is TVA's largest customer, representing 11% of TVA's total load.

Natural Gas

Natural gas is the most common means of residential heating in the MLG&W service area.
