OverDrive will retire the OverDrive app by the end of 2022. Eventually the Libby app will completely replace the OverDrive app.
The first step in the OverDrive app's retirement will be its removal from the app stores on February 23, 2022.
If you currently use the OverDrive app you may keep it for now. It will be phased out gradually – taking place over the year. The goal is to have most everyone migrated over to Libby by the end of 2022.
Haven’t heard of Libby?
Libby is the newest app from OverDrive, inspired by library and user feedback. It is designed to get people reading as quickly and seamlessly as possible. You can visit Libby Help for more information. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous and want to get a jump start, go ahead and download the Libby app here or search for it in your app store.
What does this change mean for current OverDrive app users?
When the OverDrive app is removed from app stores, users who already have it installed can continue to use it with no disruption. OverDrive will continue to provide help and support resources for the OverDrive app. But it will no longer be available to new users for downloading from the app store.
Will we still be able to use the OverDrive website?
Yes, you may still browse, borrow, and enjoy titles from Collierville’s OverDrive website: https://reads.overdrive.com/reads-collierville/content.
Can we sync our OverDrive wish lists to Libby?
Yes. Libby will prompt you to sync your wish lists from the OverDrive app and Collierville's OverDrive website.
What about current video titles in OverDrive?
OverDrive is working on this issue. For now your OverDrive video titles will be available for viewing from Collierville's OverDrive website and the OverDrive app for existing users.
What about PDF only titles?
OverDrive is working on a solution for these titles. Currently they are only available for viewing from the website.
Will Libby ever be available on Kindle Fire tablets?

- Kindle users can also have Kindle Books delivered to a Fire tablet from a device that supports Libby or from libbyapp.com(US only).
