Christmas is just around the corner, and the Collierville Burch Library is ready with activities and crafts for every age. Check out the lists below and find an event or activity that will add to your Christmas cheer:
5th grade and under -The 12 Days of Craft-mas starts November 29 and lasts through December 16. There’s a different Christmas-themed craft for each day! Participants register separately (registration opens two weeks ahead of each activity) for each day and pick up craft kits between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm at the Reference Desk Monday through Thursday.
6th - 12th graders - Winterfest is a special event planned by the library’s Teen Advisory Board. It will happen on Wednesday, December 19 from 4:00-5:30 pm in the Storytelling Room. What’s on the agenda? Playing games, making ornaments and a snowball fight! Registration for this event has not yet opened, but will available on the library’s events calendar in coming days.
5th grade and under – Ring in the new year before bedtime at the Noon Year’s Eve Party! It’s a mid-day celebration with crafts, snacks, music and more. Registration for this event has not yet opened, but will available on the library’s events calendar in coming days.
The library staff hasn’t forgotten about adults at Christmas. They’ve created several “take and make” craft projects and one in-person event for adults:
December 1 – Take and Make Holiday Stationary - fully booked as of November 22. Check for reopened spots at on the Events Calendar.
December 6 - Take and Make Snowmen Hat Ornaments. Registration is open.
December 10 - Take and Make Scrabble Ornaments. Registration opens at 10:00 am on Friday, November 26.
December 13 - Take and Make Paper Bag Snowflakes. Registration opens at 10:00 am on Monday, November 29.
December 13 - Winter Wonderland Paint and Sip (in-person). Registration opens at 4:30 pm on Monday, November 22.
For everyone: The Halle Park StoryWalk is featuring Chris Van Allsburg’s The Polar Express from November 23 through the end of December. This is a whole family activity that encourages both physical activity and an appreciation of the magic of stories. Bundle up and enjoy!
