As mentioned back in August, the Town of Collierville, in partnership with the City of Germantown, is reopening the regional COVID-19 vaccination distribution site at Germantown Baptist Church. The site will resume operations on Friday, October 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For now, the site will be open on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each week. If the City of Memphis sees a change in demand or supply, the days and hours of operation could change. This site will provide for first, second and third doses of the Pfizer vaccine, as well as first and second doses of the Moderna vaccine. In addition, no appointments are necessary and vaccines will be available on a first come, first served basis.
The minimum age to receive a COVID-19 vaccine is 12 and older. Those under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in order to be vaccinated. The parent or guardian will be required to show ID and complete and sign a consent form on-site for his/her child to be vaccinated. Individuals receiving a second or third dose of the vaccine must bring their vaccination cards with them.
The following individuals are now eligible for a third dose of the Pfizer vaccine so long as they received their second dose at least six months prior:
- People ages 65 and older
- Residents in long-term care settings
- People ages 50 to 64 years with underlying medical conditions
- People ages 18 to 49 years with underlying medical conditions, based on their individual benefits and risks
- People ages 18 to 64 who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of their occupational or institutional setting, based on their individual benefits and risks
While the church is on board with hosting the distribution on their property, staff of the Germantown Baptist Church will not be available to answer any questions regarding the vaccine or distribution.
