The investigation into the active shooter tragedy continues as the Collierville Police Department works with local, state, and federal agencies to uncover more details. With active police investigations, many of the case details cannot be shared until the investigation is complete. 

The Collierville Police Department can share some new information regarding the victims’ conditions, next steps, and a few case updates. 

There are four victims, all in stable condition, that remain at Regional One Hospital.  

The Town of Collierville met with Kroger officials today to discuss next steps involving employee and community support regarding mental well-being to relief funding. The collective group will continue to meet in the coming days to discuss the re-opening process of the store. 

The Collierville Police Department is in the process of setting up critical stress debriefing for all employees involved in the incident. The Police Chaplains have been attending rolls calls and offering support as needed.  

The shooter moved into the Town of Collierville in the summer of 2020. He was a third-party vendor working inside Kroger and was asked to leave his job the morning of Thursday, September 23, 2021. The Police Department is processing evidence to include electronic evidence, as well as the crime scene vehicles, and interviewing other potential witnesses.
