1000 Books is a program designed to help parents prepare their children for one of life’s big milestones: Kindergarten. Young children begin the process of learning to read long before they start school. Just reading 20 minutes a day helps children to understand that letters make sounds, sounds make words, and words make stories and songs. And it's never too early to start.

For our program, interested participants can register and record reading on READsquared (colliervillelibrary.readquared.com). Once registered, simply read and record the books you read to your child to earn prizes and make precious memories!
