Collierville In Motion

Post Date:05/01/2026 10:04 AM

The Town of Collierville is proud to announce the launch of a comprehensive, multi-departmental Traffic Safety Initiative beginning today, May 1, 2026. This unified effort brings together the Town’s Public Information Office, Engineering, Public Works, Police, and Fire departments, along with Collierville Schools, to foster a safer environment for all who travel our streets.

The campaign, called “Collierville in Motion”, kicks off during National Bike Month with a specific focus on the peaceful coexistence of motorists and cyclists. Throughout May, residents can expect a series of educational PSAs and resources designed to clarify the rights and responsibilities of both drivers and cyclists, ensuring every neighbor can reach their destination safely.

"Our goal is to move beyond departmental silos and speak with one voice regarding the safety of our residents," said Jennifer Preston, Public Information Officer. "Whether you are a student walking to school, a commuter driving on Wolf River Boulevard or a cyclist getting daily exercise, we are committed to making education the foundation of our safety culture."

Residents are encouraged to follow the Town’s social media channels and visit the Town website for updates throughout the month. At the end of May, the Town will release a "Traffic Safety Hub" on colliervilletn.gov, housing state laws, local resources, and safety tools for all residents to find all the information in one place.
