Urgent Sanitation Update

We're stopping sanitation services today due to safety concerns.
Post Date:02/04/2026 11:06 AM

We have a major update regarding trash collection. We sent our crews out this morning to attempt the rescheduled routes, but unfortunately, we encountered serious safety concerns on neighborhood side streets. Due to several close calls and minor accidents caused by lingering ice, we have had to make the difficult decision to pull our trucks off the road for the remainder of the day.

Our adjusted plan for the week:

  • Monday & Tuesday Routes: Please have your GREEN CAN ONLY at the curb. We are hoping to complete both routes tomorrow (Thursday).

  • Recycling Update: We will NOT be collecting recycling this week. You may see recycling trucks in your neighborhood, but they are being used to help collect household trash to get through the backlog.

  • Wednesday Route: We will attempt collection on Friday.

  • Thursday Route: We will attempt collection on Saturday.

  • If you can wait a week to put out your cart, please do! This will be a big help.

Please note, while we are doing everything in our power to catch up, there is no guarantee we will be able to reach every home this week due to the unpredictable street conditions.

To help with excess waste, we will be opening the Transfer Station (450 E. South St.) for extended hours this week. Residents can dispose of excess trash at the transfer station.

That schedule is as follows:

Wed Feb 4: 12 PM - 4 PM
Thur Feb 5: 7 AM - 4 PM
Fri Feb 6: 7 AM - 4 PM
Sat Feb 7: 7 AM - 4 PM

The safety of our drivers and the protection of your property is our top priority, and we appreciate your continued patience as we navigate these final icy patches together.
