The Town of Collierville is proud to announce that Greg Clark, Director of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts, has been awarded the Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association (TRPA) Fellow Award, the organization’s highest professional honor.

The TRPA Fellow Award recognizes individuals who have made significant and outstanding contributions to the parks and recreation profession in Tennessee throughout their careers. It is awarded annually to professionals who have gone “above and beyond their normal and expected duties” in their work with parks, recreation, and conservation.

Clark, who began his career with the Town in 1997 and was appointed Director in 2016, has led Collierville’s parks system through a period of remarkable growth and innovation. Under his leadership, the department has expanded recreational programming, enhanced green spaces, and prioritized long-range planning to meet the needs of a growing community.

“Greg’s leadership has elevated Collierville’s parks into spaces that define our community and improve the quality of life for our residents,” said Mayor Maureen Fraser. “This impressive recognition is a testament to his dedication to public service and his lasting impact on our Town.”

A graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Business Administration, Clark has been a driving force behind numerous capital projects and signature special events that have elevated Collierville’s reputation across the state. In addition to large-scale events like the Independence Day Celebration and Christmas in Collierville events including the Tree Lighting and Christmas Parade, he has overseen the development of Hinton Park and numerous recreation, educational, and arts programs.

“Greg’s dedication to Collierville and to the field of parks and recreation is truly exceptional,” said Town Administrator Molly Mehner. “This award reflects his leadership, his commitment to excellence, and the positive impact he’s had on our community over the years. We are proud to have him on our team.”

The award was presented during the Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association’s 74th Annual Conference, held October 14-17 in Kingsport, Tennessee, where Clark was honored among peers from across the state.
