The Town of Collierville has officially appointed a 28-member Steering Committee to help guide the development of its new Comprehensive Plan, a transformative initiative that will shape the Town’s growth and character through 2050.

The committee was selected during the Board of Mayor and Aldermen’s mid-year retreat from a pool of 127 residents, business owners, and community leaders who expressed interest since the plan’s announcement in April. The Planning Division collected interest forms to ensure a broad and inclusive cross-section of the community is represented. 

“This committee will serve as the navigating force throughout the planning process,” said Michael Clark, Community and Economic Development Director. “Their role is to help translate citizen ideas into policies that reflect Collierville’s values, aspirations, and shared vision for the future.” 

The Steering Committee includes representatives from Town Boards and Commissions, including the Planning Commission, Historic District Commission, Design Review Commission, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and Tourism Board. It also includes business owners, developers, long-time residents, new residents, and general members of the public. The Town also worked with Collierville Schools to appoint three high school juniors to serve as a youth voice, non-voting role on the committee. All three students are involved in student government at Collierville High School.

The Comprehensive Plan will serve as a unified roadmap for decision-making across land use, transportation, utilities, economic development, recreation, zoning, and preservation. The 18-month planning process will feature robust public engagement, including surveys, focus groups, design charrettes, and interactive events.

The Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee Members include: Bob Abbot, Russ Beatse, Adam Boucher, Katherine Street Bousson, Josh Burnette, Kirk Cotham, Bill Cox, Wright Cox, Terry Dean, Christine Donhardt, Jerry Ehlirch, Joe Ennis, Susan Ewing, Charles Green, Chad Kelsey, Myra McCaskill Crenshaw, Ginny Nanney, Sonjii Owens, Cindy Rial, Scott Rozanski, Joe Sarrio, Stuart Smith, Ryan Thomas, Rachel Wall and Steven Williams. The student members are Gavin Bosley, Khyla Shorter, and Ta'miya West.
