Post Date:04/10/2025 1:38 PM

Yesterday, at the Collierville Chamber of Commerce’s monthly luncheon, Community and Economic Development Director Michael Clark shared exciting plans to kick off a transformative project that will shape the next 25 years of the Town of Collierville. The Town is embarking on a new Comprehensive Plan — a roadmap that will unify and guide decision-making across land use, transportation, utilities, economic development, recreation, zoning, and preservation efforts. The plan's purpose is to ensure that all elements of community growth work together toward a shared vision of Collierville in 2050.

“This project will define the next generation of Collierville,” said Clark. “We can’t plan for major employers or new neighborhoods without also thinking about road networks, utilities, and emergency services. All parts of our community must work together to be successful.”

The process will span 18 months and include a robust public engagement effort featuring focus groups, surveys, design charrettes, and interactive opportunities for community input. Residents, business owners, and local organizations will have multiple opportunities to shape what Collierville looks like in the decades to come.

Clark emphasized that the plan is about more than land uses: “We don’t want a plan based on zones—we want a plan based on experiences. What kind of places do we want to create? How do we want to live, work, and play here in the future?”

The Town encourages everyone to be part of the process. Share your ideas, get involved in events, and help us answer the big question: What will Collierville be in 2050?
