Full STEAM Ahead and Learn n' Play Relaunch for Ages 2 to 5

The Lucius E. and Elsie C. Burch, Jr. Library is pleased to announce the return of two special weekly programs for 2 to 5-year-olds: Full STEAM Ahead and Learn n’ Play. These programs feature a variety of enhanced learning experiences to foster curiosity, creativity, and social skills.

Full STEAM Ahead will introduce young scientists to simple concepts in science, technology, engineering, art, and math before allowing them to explore the topic more through crafts and activities. Past experiments have included learning to count and measure by making playdough, making fossils with salt dough and toy dinosaurs, and exploring states of matter by making homemade ice cream.

Learn n’ Play, meanwhile, takes the idea of “play is the work of a child” to heart. During this program, children are presented with a variety of toys and other materials to assist with the development of motor skills, problem-solving skills, and social skills in a group setting. While children play, parents can enjoy a morning cup of coffee, friendly conversation, and a chance to learn from each other.

Learn n’ Play is currently held on Tuesdays from 11 to 11:30 a.m., while Full STEAM Ahead is currently offered on Wednesdays from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. Full STEAM Ahead capacity is limited for safety and to ensure that there are enough supplies for all participants. Please arrive early on the day of the program and see the Information Desk for a ticket. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis.

For more information and the most recent schedule of programs, please see the Library’s Events Calendar.
