Julia Trumpy Celebrates 5 Years as Youth Services Librarian at Collierville Burch Library

Congratulations to Julia Trumpy who reached her 5-year anniversary on June 7 working for the Town of Collierville as a Youth Services Librarian. Julia came to Collierville in 2017, after obtaining her Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign. Julia’s fun-loving personality and cheerful demeanor make her a great fit for working at the Burch Library.

During the past five years Julia has led the Youth Services Department with incredible patience and extraordinary creativity. A techie by nature, she is always ready to solve problems that arise with technology. Her tech savviness came in handy during the pandemic as she single-handedly switched the library’s programming over to virtual platforms. Among Julia’s other accomplishments are launching STEM story times and Learn and Play children’s programming and her latest achievement of creating the Story Walk around Halle Park trail.

The library is a great place to work, according to Julia. She “absolutely adores the people I've worked with over the years, both in the library and throughout the community. All of them have been so wonderful and supportive, and I've learned a great deal from them. Because of them, I've been able to create and host some spectacular programs, with some of my favorites being the Llama Llama Red Pajama program (with an actual llama in pajamas) and the National Novel Writing Month contests. I hope to do many more amazing things in the future!”
