What's The Role?  

Working as an Animal Shelter Technician, you will perform skilled work involving the care of animals housed in the shelter and provide assistance to the Animal Shelter manager on daily shelter operations. You can also expect to clean/disinfect the kennels and cages, maintain the dietary needs of the animals, and assist with routine procedures of the shelter such as showing animals to the public for adoptions, the drop off of animals to be held in the shelter and the reclaim of animals by the appropriate individuals. You will assist the veterinarian in the performance of minor surgical and medical procedures; assist in the sterilization of medical trays and a wide variety of surgical instruments, and assist in the administering of medication to animals when necessary. Perform other related duties as required. 

Minimum Requirements 

Here is what you need to be considered for the position of Animal Shelter Technician:  

• High School Diploma  

• Supplemented by six (6) months experience working with animals in an animal shelter, boarding or care facility; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. 

• Valid Driver’s License
