On July 4, 2026, our nation will commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The journey toward this historic milestone is an opportunity to pause and reflect on our nation’s past, honor the contributions of all Americans, and look ahead toward the future we want to create for the next generation and beyond.

Sounds like Collierville: Celebrating 250 Years Through Song

  • Location: Town Square Park

  • Introduction: Join us for a community celebration of Americana and bluegrass music, delicious food, and community.

Sounds Like Collierville is a free, family-friendly bluegrass and Americana music festival that debuted in 2025, welcoming more than 6,000 attendees to the historic Town Square. In 2026, the festival returns with a special 250th anniversary theme, exploring the powerful role music has played in shaping the American story.

Festival Highlights

Thursday, April 23
Kick off the celebration at the historic Sanctuary on the Square with a program that blends live performances and storytelling to explore American popular music and the inventions—like the phonograph and radio—that transformed how it’s shared.

Friday, April 24
Celebrate the 27th annual Collierville Square Bluegrass & Old Time Music Jam. The community jam begins at 5 p.m., followed by a gazebo concert featuring The Tennessee Tradition.

Saturday, April 25
Enjoy a full day of music with seven performances by local and regional bluegrass and Americana artists. Free interactive workshops—including guitar, banjo, fiddle, resonator guitar, and songwriting—take place throughout Town Square, welcoming beginners and seasoned musicians alike.

Over three days, the event transforms Collierville’s historic Town Square into a gathering place where residents and visitors can celebrate America’s 250th anniversary through music and community traditions.

  • Dining from Town Square restaurants and food trucks
