Heritage Commission Meeting

This meeting is open to the public!

PURPOSE/DUTIES/AUTHORITY OF BOARD:

The Commission serves as the Town's authority on matters regarding the Town's history. Its mission is to preserve, interpret and impart knowledge of the history of the Town of Collierville and to foster an appreciation of its historic significance. The Commission also serves as an advisory body for the Morton Museum of Collierville History, evaluating objects for inclusion into the Museum's collection.

The Commission consists of nine members and one student representative. Members serve five-year terms, with terms staggered so that three members' terms expire each year. Members must be residents of the Town and have knowledge of or interest in its history. Experience in historic preservation is considered during the selection process. The Mayor nominates members, and the Board of Mayor and Aldermen confirms them by majority vote.
